More automated, data-driven and future-ready pipelay operations

As part of the project, Alewijnse was responsible for the complete electrical installation scope, supporting the delivery of a fully renewed DJF that has been central to Solitaire’s pipelay operations for more than 25 years. The company also provided support during engineering, testing and commissioning activities to help ensure successful system integration and start-up.

Key elements of the project included the installation of new cable routes and cable support systems, as well as sensors, junction boxes, control panels and other electrical and instrumentation (E&I) equipment.

Alewijnse also carried out the pulling, termination and connection of all required cables for power, control, instrumentation and network systems. In addition, all cables and components were identified and tested through continuity and insulation resistance testing of the installed cables and connections.

Strong collaboration, successful delivery

"What made this project particularly unique was the dynamic collaboration between all parties on board and the constantly evolving schedule that came with it," says Ronald Bol, Electrical Production Supervisor at Alewijnse. "Thanks to our flexibility and short communication lines, we were able to respond quickly to changes and complete the project within the agreed timeframe. We have been a trusted partner of Allseas for many years and have the capacity, expertise and working methods that align with their high standards. Together, this enabled us to make the project a success."
