Alarm, monitoring & control system (MPA)
With the MPA alarm, monitoring & control system, you can view information from ship systems at any location on board.
This is how we make life a lot easier for a captain and their crew
A vessel should not operate without an alarm and monitoring system, as a centralised platform makes life much easier for the captain and crew. The MPA alarm and monitoring system allows you to access information about the ship’s systems from any location on board. This enables close monitoring of the vessel’s performance and provides control over nearly all electrical systems on board, significantly enhancing overall safety.
The MPA system was designed by Tijssen Elektro, a company that was acquired by Alewijnse in 2023. Initially, it is suitable for yachts up to 60 meters, but it can also be effectively applied to other types of vessels.
The components of the MPA system are distributed throughout the vessel, with two central locations: the main cabinet in the engine room or control room, and the dashboard on the bridge. All components are connected via a dedicated LAN network (the MPA network), which is separate from the ship’s own LAN network.
With the MPA system, the following components can be monitored:
- Power management system (PMS)
- Load management (heavy consumers)
- Alarm monitoring system (AMS)
- Battery system
- Tank sounding system
- Pump control
- Circuit breakers monitoring
- Generator control
- Hydraulic system
- Power distribution panel monitoring
