Alewijnse Marine wins contract for electrical refit on board Stolt Neckar

Alewijnse Marine Rotterdam has won a contract for the electrical refit of the 2,095 DWT inland tanker Stolt Neckar. The vessel was severely damaged on the 11th of October in a collision with the Bladenhorster bridge on the Rhein-Hernekanaal in Castrop-Rauxel.

Alewijnse is responsible for all electrical refit works on board Stolt Neckar. The contract includes the delivery and construction of a new wheelhouse desk, and all the electrical systems serving the wheelhouse and the accommodation. Other works involve the replacement of large sections of the cabling, for example from the wheelhouse to the engine room and in the bow of the vessel, and other installation and commissioning work. The client is Breko Shipbuilding & Repair, working on behalf of Stolt Tankers, which is responsible for the entire renewal of the accommodation, column and wheelhouse of the chemical tanker.
