Alewijnse constructs lock IJburg Amsterdam

June 2010 – Work is now undertaken to construct lock no. 0124, an additional lock that is intended to facilitate the water management within the newly-created urban district of IJburg in Amsterdam. As part of a collaboration with Schuurmans Betonbouw and de Jonge Konstruktie, Alewijnse is currently involved in the design and construction of the new lock. In addition to its role to protect the internal waterways of IJburg from the waters of the IJmeer, this new lock will also serve as a primary surge barrier, as well as helping to maintain water quality.

Alewijnse Marine Systems signs new contract for superyacht Oceanco

June 2010 - Alewijnse Marine Systems has been awarded the contract for the supply and installation of the complete electrical outfitting on board a stunning and innovative new 85.5m (280ft) motoryacht.  The vessel has been styled by Igor Lobanov and is currently in build at Oceanco’s facility at Alblasserdam, the Netherlands.

Alewijnse launches report 2009

Alewijnse has launched an annual report in which they give insight in developments and results. Next to the milestones of 2009, our vision, strategy and a number of projects and acitivities are highlighted.

With great pictures, which illustrate our work and projects, we give a first impression of our new house style.

The year behind us was very interesting for Alewijnse  The progression we booked in 2009 would not have been possible without the trust of our customers, the effort of our employees and the cooperation of our stakeholders.

Alewijnse installing AIS in inland waterway vessels

June 2010 - Alewijnse Marine Systems is extremely busy, installing approved Comnav AIS (automatic identification systems) in inland waterway vessels in the Netherlands. The systems are being installed at various different sites throughout the Netherlands. By providing this service, Alewijnse is accelerating the process that will enable inland waterway vessels to comply with their statutory obligation to identify themselves whilst underway in European waters.
