ALPROP electric propulsion drives

The ALPROP drive system focuses on the design of the ship’s propulsion and its control in relation to the power management system for diesel or fuel cell electric ships. Alewijnse’s POEM programme supports the decision-making process when choosing a vessel’s propulsion and energy generation. PEOM stands for Propulsion and Energy Optimisation Method. To optimise the system, the data and sailing profile of the vessel are filled in with desired parameters for elements such as fuel consumption, maximum load capacity or redundancy. The programme calculates the best configuration for the customer.
