August 2009 - Industry - Renovation of lift bridge over the Krommenie – Assendelft Nauernasche waterway

Alewijnse is set to provide the railway bridge over the Nauernaschevaart with a new electrical installation and remote control for client ProRail. Using the remote control the bridge will be operated from Alkmaar.

The railway bridge consists of one double track steel construction, one double track concrete bridge and a double track steel lift bridge. All processes are highly automated to shorten the time required to operate the bridge. In addition, the security installation has been overhauled to ensure safe operation. Alewijnse will use ProRail’s ATM transport network for the transfer of data, video and audio.
